LVCHS is changing to a 21st century blended learning environment in 2015/16
Total tuition is being lowered by $2,200
Our Mission, Biblical worldview, arts and athletic programs are not changing
Student achievement and involvement will improve at all levels
Leading the way in Christian education for the 21st Century, Lehigh Valley Christian High School is embarking on an innovative path to increase its educational value, implement a financially sustainable plan and incorporate technology within the mission of LVCHS. Desiring to equip students to think biblically and function purposefully in society, LVCHS is reimagining education to meet the needs of all learners in a distinct Christ-centered learning community. In the fall of 2015, LVCHS will incorporate online delivery of course content, coupled with live instructors to bring increased depth and personal interaction for our students.
The new model of education at LVCHS has strong ties to the distinctives that have defined LVCHS over the past quarter of a century while embracing current curricular design. Leaning on the strengths of our faculty and the power of Liberty University’s Online Academy, our new education plan merges the best of live instruction and online learning. The plan features a teaching team who provide classroom instruction as well as live, interactive guidance and support for the online learning. The data for this plan supports that all students perform better in this environment due to the immediate feedback the technology provides and the support of in-room content expert teachers to instruct and assist when needed. Students are empowered to move at the pace at which they are comprehending each subject, not limited to the pace of the group, therefore making the learning experience more effective and enjoyable. Chapel services, live physical education classes, the fine arts, and our current athletic program will remain a vital part of student achievement and further allow for the development of our learning community. While sadly there will be some reduction in staff, we maintain our focus on a rich classroom environment. Students may use their own laptops or use the purchasing power of LVCHS to buy through the school.
Our alumni repeatedly recount the many moments that LVCHS faculty and staff directly impacted their lives. They tell stories of those meaningful moments that clearly describe a valuable connection between teacher and learner. Experiences of students being mentored by a caring, supportive teacher mark the entire history of the school, leaving a long legacy of changed lives. LVCHS stands committed today to proudly maintain the honor of that tradition and to lead the way in Christian education for the 21st Century.
