Blended learning synthesizes the strengths of a traditional classroom with the effectiveness of online learning. In this student-centered approach, students have more freedom to move at their own pace, not hindered by the constraints of the entire class. Powered by personalized and competency based learning, the blended classroom more effectively meets the needs of the individual student, allowing them to progress faster on subjects they excel at and take their time on others. With formative assessment and corrective feedback, learning occurs before moving on to the next topic and ensures a better foundation upon which to build. Data shows that students of all levels and capabilities perform better than in the traditional model (Horn & Staker, 2015) . A blended learning model also provides the opportunity to structure the school in a way that allows for a more efficient and effective utilization of resources.

Students will come to school every day during the school year, beginning with homeroom and having all the social and spiritual interaction of a Christian high school environment. They will receive instruction from the online provider and will also have live, smaller group style lessons taught by our credentialed teachers, designed to support and also advance student online learning. LVCHS will also continue to provide a live, traditional classroom for a few courses. Student to teacher ratios during all live instruction will vary depending upon subjects but are expected to average 15:1. Students will also be able to participate in a peer tutoring program, both as tutors and students. Lunch, Chapel, fine arts, and Physical Education will create meaningful, natural breaks for the students and are in addition to other regularly scheduled time away from the computer. Student interaction across grade levels will be fostered, developing a greater sense of community and school spirit. Students will also have more opportunities to participate in community outreach during the school year.
Liberty University Online Academy (LUOA) will provide the fully biblically integrated online content and is committed to yearly strengthening its course selection. LUOA uses the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). An overview can be seen here,
LVCHS will remain accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Liberty University Online Academy is accredited by AdvancEd and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
All students who meet LVCHS's graduation requirements will receive their diploma from Lehigh Valley Christian High School.
LVCHS students will be better equipped for higher education due to a strong content area knowledge base and developed skill sets, improved time management skills, a greater responsibility for their own learning, and a deeper understanding of their faith. As many higher education institutions now incorporate online learning into all of their degree programs, an LVCHS experience will allow LVCHS students to be better prepared than most.
